The unique “RUNWAY” table was carefully crafted from a wing segment of the Douglas DC-3 with the registration D-CXXX, one of the planes that provided supplies to West Berlin during the Berlin Airlift. These planes, also known as “raisin bombers”, became symbols of solidarity. The table carries this historical story within it, its frame has been painstakingly sanded and polished to a high gloss by hand. Framed by oiled oak side panels, including the applied D-CXXX identification and a safety glass top, this desk is an authentic collector’s item that brings the history of the D-CXXX back to life in your living space.
